MAYHEM Perform In Singapore: Photos Available

Norwegian black metallers MAYHEM performed at the Pavilion in Saingapore on February 5 as part of their three-date "Asian Legions Tour" (Indonesian and Malaysian shows were cancalled due to public pressure over the band's controversial image and negative publicity surrounding the black metal genre). The security at the Singaporean concert was reportedly tight as dozens of plainclothes law enforcers were dispatched inside the venue to control the crowd. Strict checks at the door by two uniformed police officers also kept those under the age of 18 away from the two-hour gig by one of the pioneers of the Norwegian extreme metal scene. As previously reported, MAYHEM have set "Ordo Ab Chao" as the title of their new album, tentatively this spring via Season of Mist. The band's upcoming CD will mark their first release with vocalist Attila Csihar (TORMENTOR, ABORYM) since their 1993 album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas".

Csihar joined MAYHEM in November 2004 as the replacement for departed singer Maniac (real name Sven Erik Kristiansen).

MAYHEM's last studio album, "Chimera", entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 28 upon its release in March 2004.
